Hi, I'm Ken
Digital Transformation &
AI Lead
I've spent 25+ years helping large organisations run smarter — from commissioning building automation systems in the early days to leading campus-wide IoT and AI rollouts today. Based in Singapore, currently driving Smart FM digitalisation at Temasek Polytechnic.
Who I Am
About Me
My career started on the tools — commissioning building automation systems for NTU's campus back in 2001. Twenty-five years on, I'm still bridging the same two worlds: physical infrastructure and software. That grounding means I treat technology as something that has to work in the real world, not just in a slide deck.
At Temasek Polytechnic I lead Smart FM digitalisation for the Estates & Facilities Management department — a five-year, 16-project roadmap I formulated in 2022 and have been delivering since: an integrated command centre, booking-driven aircon control across the campus, AI pilots for the facilities team. What keeps me going isn't the technology itself; it's watching a colleague build their first analytics dashboard, or a technician trace a fault in minutes instead of hours.
Outside work I run a self-hosted AI lab — multi-agent assistants, local LLMs, automation pipelines — because staying hands-on keeps my professional judgement honest. I'm looking for a senior role where that blend of project leadership and genuine AI capability can drive measurable operational change.

Key Deliverables
Notable Projects
A selection of significant digitalisation and Smart FM projects delivered across government, education, and private sectors.
Problem
Campus oversight was fragmented — security feeds, fire alarms, ACMV performance and energy data lived in separate systems and separate rooms, slowing incident response.
What I did
As a core team member from concept to completion, I helped convert an existing lab into an Integrated Digital Command Centre — tender awarded Nov 2023, video-wall infrastructure built, and every key campus system integrated into one operating picture.
Result
Since July 2024 the EFM operations team runs the campus from a single room — security, fire, ACMV efficiency and energy on one wall, with real-time fault tracking.
Problem
Hundreds of teaching and meeting spaces ran air-conditioning on fixed schedules whether or not anyone had booked the room — comfortable, but wasteful at campus scale.
What I did
As both PM and business analyst across two phases, I integrated the Building Management System with the Facilities Booking System and IoT occupancy sensors, so cooling follows actual bookings and occupancy — Blocks 1–8 first (completed Oct 2023), then seven further blocks across two BMS vendors (Schneider and Carrier).
Result
200+ classrooms, meeting rooms and lecture theatres across 18+ blocks now condition themselves around real usage, delivering sustained energy savings — and a rollout template TP reuses for every new block.
End-to-end Smart FM platform with API integrations (TTCloud/sTMS), Procurement Module, BIM for FM, and Health Monitoring IoT Sensors.
Led from concept through budget approval, procurement, and implementation — enabling data-driven insights on campus F&B outlet utilisation patterns.
A rolling portfolio of small bets: a sentiment-analysis tool built with Power Automate and ChatGPT (adopted by two other departments), an agentic chatbot POC for room booking and fault reporting, vaping-sensor trials with three vendors, and an approved staircase-cleaning robot prototype.
Digitised Primary and Secondary paper examinations to electronic authoring, delivery, and marking — a nationwide rollout for MOE Singapore.
Led tender and implementation of the National Games website and Games Management System — an inter-agency collaboration delivered on tight budget and timeline.
Implemented ECM platform and migrated Digital Archival System to SharePoint, retiring legacy systems and achieving 50%+ annual maintenance cost savings.
Led requirements gathering, tender evaluation, and award for SAP HR & Payroll and SAP Finance — organisation-wide ERP implementation across NTUC's Labour Movement entities.
Personal Projects
Homelab & AI Exploration
Outside of work, I run a self-hosted homelab to explore infrastructure, automation, and AI — hands-on experience that directly informs my professional technology strategy.
I operate a personal homelab running Proxmox as the hypervisor, TrueNAS Scale for ZFS storage, and an Ubuntu Docker VM hosting 20+ containerised services. Remote access is secured via Tailscale VPN, with public services routed through Cloudflare Tunnel.
My current focus is agentic AI: a team of nine domain assistants — finance, health, career, this very homelab — that I talk to over Telegram, each a Claude-based agent with its own skills and persistent memory (mem0 with Qdrant vector search). Alongside them run n8n automation pipelines and a self-built research engine that searches, crawls and cites sources entirely on my own hardware.
It's the same discipline I apply at work — pilot, measure, harden — with more freedom to break things. Running this stack end-to-end is what lets me speak credibly about AI infrastructure decisions in a professional setting.
Nine domain AI assistants reachable over Telegram — each a Claude-based agent with its own skills and persistent memory (mem0 + Qdrant). They track my finances, health, investments and the homelab itself, and remember context across sessions.
N8N orchestrates the pipelines; a local research engine (search + crawl + memory) answers questions with cited sources, Perplexity-style but self-hosted. The same automation instincts as my professional Power Automate work — with open-source tools and LLMs.
Home Assistant for centralised smart home automation, integrated with Zigbee2MQTT for Zigbee device management — extending my professional BMS/IoT work into a home environment.
Seafile (private cloud storage), Immich (photo management), Vaultwarden (password manager), Code-Server (browser-based VS Code), and Uptime Kuma (service monitoring) — all containerised and Cloudflare-tunnelled.
Three-tier backup strategy: ZFS hourly/daily/weekly snapshots, Proxmox weekly VM backups, and monthly USB off-site backups — all scripted and orchestrated with automated monitoring.
Built a structured personal knowledge workspace (AI Brain) shared between human and AI agents. Covers infrastructure, health tracking, productivity workflows — providing persistent context to AI agents across sessions.
